Here you will find recommendations for a possible year-long sequence of units. Those recommendations include the Units of Study books, as well as what we refer to as ‘curricular calendars,' which are units in pre-publication and in draft form. We encourage grade-level teams of teachers to make decisions about the sequence of units that will work best for your students, your standards, and your own interests. We highly encourage grade levels to progress through units synchronously as doing so supports collaboration, which makes a world of difference. There are instances when we think teachers might be wise to teach a unit or two from a previous grade, as long as that decision takes into account whether kids have already experienced that unit.
