Our Professional Development Services
The Reading & Writing Project at Mossflower conducts professional development for reading, writing, and phonics instruction for grades K-12. We work directly with teachers, literacy coaches, school principals, and district leaders, aiming to tailor our work to the needs of each individual school and their students.
Staff Developers conduct on-site literacy professional development across the school year. This work includes demonstration teaching, feedback to teachers and students, as well as professional development workshops.
We support teachers with implementing the Units of Study curriculum. Sometimes we do this through an intensive day that either introduces teachers to the curriculum as a whole, or that functions as re-immersion.
Individual coaches, or a group of coaches, receive personalized support from highly experienced Staff Developers who collaborate closely with them.
4-5 consecutive days of on-site literacy professional development tailored to the priorities and goals of a school or district.
Schools that are ready to learn more about a specific topic can request a day, or a sequence of days, on almost any literacy- related topic.
We host events virtually and in-person across the world. Join us to study methods and plan curricula, revitalize our thinking, and most importantly, learn how to encourage our students to lead meaningful and active literate lives.
